Scientific Analyst (Posting No: R15-27)
Employment is with The Research Foundation for The State University of New York, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.
Description of Duties: Provide software engineering and science support to an aerosol-NWP project funded by the Research-to Operations (R2O) for Next Generation Global Prediction System (NGGPS) program at NOAA
Minimum Qualifications: MS degree in Atmospheric sciences or related physical or mathematical sciences from a college or university accredited by the U.S Dept. of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization; experiences working with source code and shell scripts of numerical weather prediction models; demonstrated ability to set up, execute, and evaluate experiments on parallel computing platforms; experiences with geophysical data formats and graphic display programs. Candidates must address their ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
